JSI Tip 10270. The File Server Resource Manager settings for Active screening and Hard quota revert to the previous setting in Windows Server 2003 R2?

When you use File Server Resource Manager and select Active screening under Screening Type and press OK, Passive is displayed in the Screening Type column. If you select Hard quota: Do not allow users to exceed limit in the Quota Properties dialog, Soft is displayed in the Quota Type column.

This behavior occurs when you try to use an active file screen, or a hard quota, on the system partition or the boot partition, because File Server Resource Manager does NOT support this functionality.

NOTE: The System Partition is the partition that contains the startup files, NTDetect.com, NTLDR, and Boot.ini. The Boot Partition contains the system files (%SystemRoot%\System32).
