JSI Tip 0682 - If you have a count down timer when CHKDSK runs at boot.

Some editions of NT have a count down timer when CHKDSK runs at boot. You can cancel the CHKDSK before the timer counts down to zero. To alter the count down time, edit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

and Add Value name AutoChkTimeOut as a type REG_DWORD. Set it to the number of seconds. The default is 10 seconds.

If you set it to 0, no count down timer will be used.

If you set it to more that 259,200 seconds (3 days), the default 10 seconds will be used.

It won't be too long until y'all have this feature (but I didn't tell you).
