A. Under Windows NT 4.0 programs running under command.com enjoyed mouse abilities however under Windows 2000 the same programs may no longer respond to mouse events.
This is caused by QuickEdit mode being enabled by default in the PIF for command.com. To resolve perform the following:
- Start your MS-DOS program
- Right-click the title bar
- Press Properties
- Select the Options tab
- Clear the QuickEdit Mode box
- Press OK
- Press Save Properties for future use
- Press OK
- Close all the Windows that the program opened and restart it.
