During Windows 2000 installation, how can I choose my network card instead of having the system select it automatically?

A. During Win2K installation, the system must select your network card automatically. All you can do is complete the installation, remove the device, and add it manually.

1. After your installation completes, start the Add/Remove Hardware Control Panel applet (Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Hardware).
2. Click Next on the Welcome page, select Uninstall/Unplug a device, and click Next.
3. Select Uninstall a device, and click Next.
4. In the Devices box, select your network card.

5. Click Next, click "Yes, I want to uninstall this device," click Next, and click Finish.
6. Start the Add/Remove Hardware Control Panel applet again (Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Hardware).
7. Click Next on the Welcome page, select Add/Troubleshoot a device, and click Next.
8. In the Devices box, select Add a new device, click Next, click "No, I want to select the hardware from a list," and click Next.
9. In the Hardware types box, select Network Adapters, and click Next.
10. Select the appropriate network adapter manufacturer and model, click Next, click Next again, and click Finish.
11. Restart your computer.
