WinInfo exclusive: IE 5.0 due in mid-March

According to a source close to Microsoft, the software giant is on schedule to deliver Internet Explorer 5.0, the next version of its controversial but technically excellent Web browser, in mid-March. IE 5.0 includes hundreds improvements to IE 4.0, including easier Favorites management, a cleaner interface, AutoComplete Web addresses and forms, a revamped Search bar, and more. And the annoying Channel bar from IE 4.0 is gone, while the equally annoying Active Desktop has been downplayed. IE 5.0 allows adds dozens of improvements for Web developers, including a full DHTML Document Object Model (DOM), improved data-binding, mouse events, DHTML Behaviors, and more.
