Microsoft Corporation announced on Tuesday that Visual Studio 6.0, code-named "Aspen"--will be released on September 2nd. Visual Studio is Microsoft's bundle of software and Web development tools, including Visual C++, Visual Basic, Visual InterDev, Visual FoxPro, and Visual J++. The upgrade includes support for OLE-DB and ADO-based data access in all components so that developers can move to the latest COM-based database tools. In a separate announcement, Microsoft also unveiled MSDN Downloads, a new feature for MSDN CD subscribers that allows users to download the latest tools from the Internet while they're waiting for their quarterly CD shipment to arrive
