Netscape breaks even

After last quarter's reporting fiasco, financial analysts were waiting to see how Netscape did the next time around before passing judgement. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to have to wait another quarter: Netscape posted earnings of $88,000 this week, basically breaking even for the quarter. The company reported sales of $150 million, which was higher than expected.

"Overall, we are pleased with the results we posted for the quarter," said CEO Jim Barksdale. "We're seeing strong momentum in both the enterprise software and Netcenter businesses as demonstrated by the number of significant customer wins announced during the quarter.
