The Microsoft Network (MSN) is finally giving its customers access to free home pages, the company announced Wednesday, through a deal with Talk City, an Internet hosting company. MSN Personal Home Pages, as the feature is called, will enable MSN customers to store up to 12 MB of data in their own FrontPage-enabled Web sites.
"The addition of the MSN Personal Home Pages service demonstrates our commitment to the growing consumer need for online communication tools," said Rob Bennett, group product manager for the Consumer and Commerce Group at Microsoft. "Personal home page popularity has skyrocketed in recent months, and by teaming up with community specialist Talk City, we're enabling families and friends--even if continents apart--to instantly create and enjoy their own personal corner of the Web."
The Microsoft Network is an online service similar to America Online (AOL) and CompuServe, though it currently trails those two services
