Microsoft has rescinded a contract forcing temporary workers to waive their rights to benefits after a rights advocate group representing the workers took the software giant to court. Approximately 6000 people are now working for Microsoft in a "temp" capacity, and until today, none of them received any benefits. Microsoft says the whole thing was a misunderstanding.
"It was never intended to do what it did and if it was a mistake, it was a mistake and it's been corrected," said Microsoft attorney Fred Tawsend.
"They claim this was inadvertent, but Microsoft has hundreds of attorneys who review these forms and we're clear that they knew what they meant," responded attorney David West
