Microsoft has released a hotfix for a recently discovered security bug in Windows 95 that exposes network passwords. Jonathan Roberts, a marketing director for Windows at Microsoft, says he doesn't know of any instances where the security hole was exploited, and mentioned that Windows NT doesn't suffer from this particular problem.
"In an instance where someone is not being safe, someone else could walk into an office and run an application that goes in and finds a password, a malicious program that could find the password in memory," Roberts said. "It could also be done remotely, with a program that puts up a dancing bear or something while it finds the password."
