Thanks to Keith Furman for the tip: Microsoft has made the latest version of its Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Windows 2000 available on the Microsoft FTP site.
This document contains a list of all the hardware that is known to work perfectly with Windows 2000. Though you may be able to get other hardware to work (and indeed, the list will grow between now and October), you can be sure of an error-free Windows 2000 system if your system contains only the hardware on this list
