Front Page 97 bug is the latest problem for Microsoft

Microsoft has discovered a bug in a Front Page 1.0 and 97 feature called "WebBots" that could potentially allow unauthorized users browsing the site to modify Web pages. Microsoft recommends that anyone using the WebBots feature download a patch for the Front Page server extensions.

In other bug news, a security hole was found in the Macromedia Shockwave Plug-in for Netscape Navigator that can expose e-mail and other programs to unauthorized users. Macromedia is working on a fix.
