Just a few hours ago Microsoft released the first public cumulative update for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update which bumped it from Build 14393.10 to 14393.51.
Now the Redmond company is giving its army of Windows Insiders an opportunity to do a little testing on another cumulative update if they are in the Fast, Slow or Release Preview Ring.
Cumulative Update (KB3176931) can be downloaded from Windows Update on those testing systems that are members of the Windows Insider Program and enrolled in any of the rings.
According to Microsoft it delivers the following two fixes:
- Addressed issue that causes significantly reduced battery life on Windows Phone when using Bluetooth with “Hey Cortana” feature enabled.
- Addressed issue that prevents users from completing the out-of-box experience (OOBE) with a local account using Korean characters.
Certainly does not seem like very much at all but Insiders will be able to install this and provide telemetry to Microsoft to evaluate the effectiveness of the two fixes.
Microsoft must also feel pretty good about the quality of this cumulative update because they released it to all of their testers at the same time.
If testing of this update goes well I suspect Microsoft may release it well before next month's Patch Tuesday on 13 September 2016.
