Compelling Java and ActiveX article

I don't happen to think that ActiveX is as evil as Simon Garfinkel does, nor do I believe that Java is the end-all answer to everything on the Web. That doesn't stop me, however, from recommending that you read his excellent article, "Java Jailbreak: A new Java sandbox model may become the compelling reason to dump IE 3.0." In fact, I recommend it highly. The point he's trying to make is that the ActiveX security model is just too risky and that the existing Java security model too strict. The answer, however, is to improve the Java security model so that it makes sense. Apparently, this answer was found and Netscape is incorporating it into Navigator 4.0. It's a great, intelligent read. Want more information? Java Jailbreak (Packet) http://www.packet.com/packet/96/53/index1a.htm
