Microsoft Easy Assist for Windows Intune and IE10 a Messy Mix, Fix on the Way

Recently, it was reported that Easy Assist for Windows Intune was no longer working due to the installation of the Windows Intune client producing error messages .

The Easy Assist agent for Windows Intune allows end-users to request remote assistance through the Windows Intune Client Tools interface. But recently, it was reported that Easy Assist for Windows Intune was no longer working due to the installation of the Windows Intune client producing error messages. After a bit of troubleshooting it was identified that IE10 was the culprit. Microsoft first updated the customer community on April 29, 2013. Normally installed as part of the Windows Intune client, Microsoft offered a separate installation just for Easy Assist (found here).

Today, May 15, 2013, Microsoft has communicated another update, indicating that a fix is on the way. North America and EU will see the updates on May 16, 2013 while Asia will receive the updates on May 17, 2013. The new agent will provided as a mandatory update that is installed silently.
