You heard it here first: According to anonymous sources close to Microsoft, Office 2000 will be released to manufacturing on March 18th, the same day that Internet Explorer 5.0 is released. This is no coincidence, as the new Office suite uses IE 5.0 as a central (though optional) component. And Office joins Windows 2000 Beta 3 as yet another product at Microsoft that is waiting for this crucial component before its release.
