Windows Vista and Server 2008 SP2 Now Available Publicly

Today, Microsoft delivered the public version of SP2 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, squeaking under its self-imposed deadline. The software giant previously announced that it would deliver the service pack publicly sometime in May, after providing the release to MSDN and TechNet subscribers earlier in the month.

Windows Vista/Server 2008 SP2 is now available from the Microsoft Download Center in various formats:

The release is also available as an optional update on Windows Update. Users will need to have SP1 installed before this update will be made available. (Server 2008 shipped with SP1 preinstalled.)
