Microsoft Corporation announced this week that over 1 million Internet sites are now using Windows NT Server to host Web sites, making it the number one Web server platform. Deployment of Windows NT Server and Internet Information Server (IIS, the company's bundled Web server) is at 40% of all Web servers, up from 33% last year. Leading e-commerce sites such as Dell Computer, Barnes & Nobles, 800.com, and Office Depot use Windows NT and IIS, the company notes.
