Microsoft is expected to hand out copies of the long-awaited Beta 2 version of Windows NT 5.0 this week at the Windows NT 5.0 Reviewers Workshop in Seattle. According to a report in InfoWorld, the company worked throughout the weekend to get the Beta 2 release finalized. Regardless, Beta 2 will end months of questions about Microsoft's ability to deliver a feature complete version of the new OS which is, in many ways, a complete rewrite of Windows NT. The product, which is at least several months (if not years) behind schedule, will hit a third, public, beta late this year. It is expected to be released by mid-1999
