Windows NT 4.0 SP5 due soon?

I've received conflicting reports that Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 (SP5), the latest bundle of bug fixes for Windows NT, has reached Release Candidate stage, which indicates that it's just about ready for release. If true, SP5 could be available for download in less than a month.

The biggest new feature in SP 5 is support for NTFS 5.0, the file system used by Windows 2000. Other new features, according to reports, include:

- Active Accessibility Support
- Improved DCOM/HTTP Tunneling
- Euro key patch
- Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) version 2
- Quota monitoring of users' profiles
- Year 2000 (Y2K) fixes
- Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2
- Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack fixes
- Updated Security Configuration Manager (SCM)
- DHCP/WINS/DNS improvements and upgrades
- Secure Channel enhancement
