Thanks to WinInfo subscriber Brian Kelley for the tip: Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2 has a RAS bug. Here is a report from Windows NT magazine: * FIXING THE SERVICE PACK 2 RAS BUG There have been reports of NT users who, after installing Service Pack 2 for NT 4.0, can no longer connect to their ISPs using RAS. The WinNTMag lab guys decided to run a _very_ quick test. Using NT 4.0 with SP2, they dialed in to our own RAS server (which is running NT 3.51) and encountered no problems. We'll continue to research this and let you know what we find. For those of you who are experiencing problems, you can either uninstall SP2 (assuming you picked the uninstall option when installing SP2) or try the following fix: 1. Run REGEDT32 2. Select the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ System/CurrentControlSet/ Services/ RasMan/ PPP 3. Add a new value named DisableMultiLink, data type REG_DWORD, and data set to 1 (binary, decimal, or hex
