Windows Me to feature PCHealth support solution

Support.com, a supplier of "eSupport" solutions, announced Wednesday that it is working with Microsoft Corporation to integrate its eSupport Suite into future versions of Windows, including the upcoming consumer product Windows Millennium Edition ("Windows Me"). The help and support-related features in Windows Me provide an extensive online resource to help consumers get the information they need quickly and easily. Dubbed Help and Support, Windows Me's help system is completely HTML-based, offering an extensible environment for third parties to add their own support modules.

"By taking advantage of and extending the Windows Me support automation framework, Support.com is developing a comprehensive eSupport solution for the Microsoft platform," says Windows Me product unit manager Sudheer Koneru. "Support organizations looking for a complete eSupport offering should seriously evaluate Support.com."

The Windows Me Help and Support system allows the user to easily troubleshoot and solve problems without extensive effort or, most tellingly, calls to Microsoft product support. An extensive collection of disk and Web-based tutorials, tours, and other information will help Windows Me customers get the answers they need.

"Our decision to integrate with Microsoft's support automation initiative, beginning with Windows Millennium Edition, makes perfect business sense for our customers," said Cadir Lee, the chief software officer at Support.com. "Microsoft's initiative fits perfectly with our mission to provide a seamless eSupport customer experience. Now the full range of Support.com's eSupport capabilities will be available to Support.com customers from the Microsoft Millennium Edition's Help & Support interface in Windows."
