Sun's Java plug-in available

Thanks to Osvaldo Pinali Doederlein who wrote last weekend to tell me that Sun's Java Activator--now known simply as the Java Browser Plug-in--is, in fact, already available for Netscape and Internet Explorer. The current version of the plug-in requires Web developers to modify the HTML code in Web pages to use a different OBJECT tag that disables the browser's own Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and uses the plug-in instead.
