A: Storage Spaces are a new feature in Windows 8 that let several physical disks be grouped together into a pool, and then spaces can be made from the pool that act as virtual disks onto which volumes can be created.
These spaces can be striped, striped with parity, or mirrored. The Storage Spaces feature is the same on both server and client-- the only difference is the management.
On the client side, the Storage Spaces control panel applet is used, while on the server side the Server Manager tool is used.
