Thanks to Thomas Scheidegger for the tip: Microsoft has released an update to its Data Access Components (MDAC), called MDAC 2.1 that is now available from their Web site. MDAC 2.1 is also available with SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 5: It updates the Jet database engine and the OLE DB and ODBC providers for Jet.
While it's likely that Web, software, and database developers needing this release will have received it from the previously mentioned sources, it is now possible to download it from the Microsoft Web site as well. Please be sure to read the Availability Notice first, however.
