Netscape will ship Communicator without Netcaster

Netscape will launch the final version of its Communicator suite next week without its most high-touted feature: the Netcaster "Webtop." Netscape has always maintained that Netcaster would be complete by the time Communicator shipped but now hopes to release its second Netcaster beta sometime next week instead. The current beta of Netcaster is only shipping for Windows 95 and NT.

Netscape will also launch SuiteSpot 3.0 next week. Suite Spot, a $3000 suite of servers aimed at Internet and intranet sites, is also incomplete, with some components shipping later this year
