Netscape's new Communicator Preview Release 2 is now available for download directly from the Netscape home page. There are 16-bit and 32-bit versions available in Standard and Professional Editions. The new release includes features such as dynamic HTML, dynamic style sheets (supporting CSS1 and JavaScript style sheets), dynamic layers, absolute object positioning, Canvas mode (called Kiosk mode on IE3), improved HTML e-mail, LDAP support, and more.
The Professional Edition of Communicator adds group scheduling, administration features, and IBM 3270 host access. While the program is still huge and a bit unwieldy, it does offer an impressive array of features and is far more stable than the first beta release.
