Microsoft has finally come on record, saying that rumors last week about the sale of the Microsoft Network (MSN) are false.
"Microsoft remains committed to MSN," a company spokesman said. "It is of strategic importance to the company."
The Microsoft Network has undergone several major redesigns since its appearance two years ago and has gained about 2.3 million subscribers, far below America Online's 11 million. Microsoft has always maintained that MSN would lose money for a few years, though they now plan to cut costs and streamline the unit
