Microsoft Corporation has been awarded a 30-to-180 day extension, depending on the product, for implementing a Sun Microsystems-compliant version of its Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Originally, Microsoft had a deadline of February 15th for all of its products. For example, beginning July 1, 1999, Microsoft must require hardware manufacturers to sell only a version of Windows that includes the new JVM. It must also stop selling non-compliant JVMs that overwrite compliant JVMs beginning February 15th
