Microsoft patches NT security bug

Microsoft has released a new version of the fix for the "KnownDLLs List" vulnerability. As reported earlier in WinInfo, this security bug in Windows NT could allow a user to gain administrative privileges on workstations, terminal servers, and other systems that allow non-administrative users to interactively log on.

Microsoft has released a hot-fix that changes the default access control settings on the relevant operating system object. You can download the hot-fix from the Microsoft FTP site.

This bug affects all editions of Windows NT 4.0
