Microsoft: News Viewer was posted "by mistake"

I love it. Microsoft posted a great news program to their Web site last week called News Viewer. It was just like PointCast, only nicer, and it was a 32-bit application. A few days later, the News Viewer pages disappear as Microsoft signs an agreement with PointCast to grant them a "premier spot" on the Internet Explorer 4.0 Active Desktop. Now, MS is claiming that News Viewer, a "test" program, was posted "by mistake". Yeah, right. In reality, News Viewer was meant to go against PointCast, who was just about to sign a similar agreement with Netscape. It turns out that Microsoft was able to jump in and make a better offer, ruining the Netscape deal. I hope all the News Viewer programmers understand
