The NETLOGON share on the %LOGONSERVER% is used to store the logon script, and possibly other files.
When a user has a logon script configured, it is generally specified without any path, as in logon.bat.
To locate the NETLOGON share on a domain controller:
1. Log on to the console of the domain controller.
2. Open a CMD.EXE prompt.
3. Type net share netlogon and press Enter.
4. You will receive a display similar to the following:
Share name NETLOGON Path C:\WINDOWS\sysvol\sysvol\JSIINC.COM\SCRIPTS Remark Logon server share Maximum users No limit Users Caching Manual caching of documents Permission Everyone, READ BUILTIN\Administrators, FULL
The command completed successfully.NOTE: The default location of the NETLOGON share on a domain controller is:
%SystemRoot%\sysvol\sysvol\<DomainName>\scripts
