JavaSoft offers a new future to DOS desktops

JavaSoft has an answer to all those last generation PCs that still run DOS: turn them into Network Computers. The company will release a product this year--code-named "Operation Rescue"--that consists of the JavaOS, the Java Virtual Machine, and HotJava Views, a new technology that enables a DOS-based machine to support a Java graphical user interface and run JavaOS applications.

Operation Rescue is expected to be a big hit with companies still using the millions of legacy machines in existence. I think I hear a cash register ringing
