Java hearing postponed

Sun Microsystems and Microsoft Corporation have both agreed to delay a court hearing regarding Windows 98 and Java. The hearing, which was delayed until September 4th, will determine whether Windows 98 needs to be compatible with Sun's version of Java: Sun had previously asked the court to require Microsoft to ship Windows 98 with a version of Java that is compatible with Sun's official version. Microsoft ships their own version of Java with IE 4.01 and Windows 98. Originally, the hearing was set for July 31: No reason was given for the postponement
