The first two Internet Nexus books are now available, "Implementing Microsoft Visual InterDev" (Ventana Press) and "VBScript for the World Wide Web" (published by Peachpit Press). Both of these books were written by WinInfo's Paul Thurrott and should be in bookstores now. "Implementing Microsoft Visual InterDev" is the ultimate guide for creating dynamic, database-driven Web applications using Microsoft's premier Internet development tool. Of special interest is an introduction to SQL Server for mere mortals, with an emphasis on its role in Web development. The book also discusses the techniques we use at Big Tent to create our Web communities.
"VBScript for the World Wide Web" is designed for intermediate HTML coders who are interested in taking advantage of the special features in Microsoft Internet Explorer. The unique "Visual Quickstart Guide" format used by this book provides a valuable how-to for beginners and a nice reference for those who just need to look up topics quickly.
In November, a third Internet Nexus book, "Creating Web Pages with Style," will be published by MIS Press. Written by Big Tent's Joseph R. Jones with a little help from Paul Thurrott, "Creating Web Pages with Style" is the ultimate guide to cross-browser compatible type design.
Each of these books is supported by an area on the Internet Nexus Web site. Please visit our Web publishing page for details
