GoldenGate bridges data divide at Oracle's March conference

Windows IT Pro's European arm has teamed up with Oracle to present a virtual morning conference on March 2nd entitled "Introducing Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration and continuous availability".

As its name suggests, the free online event focuses on the technology Oracle acquired when it purchased San Francisco-based GoldenGate Software in July last year. The

GoldenGate middleware provides something of a Rosetta Stone for IT pros in that it provides real-time, log-based change data capture and delivery between heterogeneous systems. In short, it's an ideal bridge (hence the name) between Oracle and other databases and platforms as well as a useful BI tool.

The event will be translated simultaneously in English, German, Italian, Spanish and French and will be hosted by Hasan Rizvi, senior vice president for Oracle Fusion middleware product development and Juan Loaiza, senior vice president of systems technology. There will be a Q&A session with Oracle experts and time to network with fellow IT pros.

Oracle says that attendees will learn how GoldenGate middleware can improve business insight through real-time integration with BI and data warehousing. The virtual conference will also cover the maximisation of data availability through multi-master database configuration as well as data synchronisation and distribution using bi-directional replication.
