FTC rejects attempt to reopen Microsoft probe

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has rejected a request by three senators to reopen an antitrust probe of Microsoft. The rejection came in the form of a letter to the senators by FTC chairman Robert Pitofsky. In addition to this federal probe, at least two state district attorneys were looking into Microsoft and its trade practices
