Europe joins the party and probes Microsoft

Microsoft is getting probed more than a Thanksgiving turkey these days. Now joining the fray is the European Commission, following up complaints about the software giant's licensing practices. The European Commission has been pretty active in anti-trust issues lately. Last month, it forced Digital to change its software and hardware pricing and several months ago it sent a formal letter of complaint to Microsoft regarding software licensing.

According to Microsoft, this probe is not new but is rather a continuation of a nine-year old suit that doesn't involve Windows or the Internet.
