Eudora bugged by security flaw

Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones: Just days after publicly trumpeting that its Eudora email client wasn't affected by the security bug plaguing Outlook 98, Outlook Express, and Netscape Mail, Qualcomm on Friday faced its own music: A flaw in Eudora does, in fact, open the program to security problems that are just as serious as the flaw in other email programs. And like the flaw in other email programs, Eudora users could potentially face the destruction or theft of data from their systems.

The good news is that Qualcomm has released a patch that fixes the problem: The company has posted a Eudora Pro Security Alert on its Web page that includes a link to download the fix
