Best Buy drops the Mac

Electronics superstore Best Buy announced Wednesday that it was dropping Apple Macintosh computers as soon as existing inventory runs out. A spokesperson for the company says that it will continue to honor Apple warranties and sell Macintosh-compatible software. Best Buy says that Apple computer sales comprised only one half of one percent of its yearly sales.

"We are phasing out our relationship. We have different focuses," the spokesperson said. Apple is turning toward education and publishing, rather than the home users Best Buy favors
