AOL settles lawsuits with 37 states

America Online has agreed to refund customers up to two months of service fees, a group of Attorneys Generals announced today. The settlement will prevent a consumer fraud lawsuit threatened by 37 states. According to the group, the most an individual customer will received is less than $40. Users who could get online for less than two hours in December and January will be given refunds for those months. AOL has also agreed to cease advertising the service until their existing members can access the service regularly
