VMware Announces Windows 10 Readiness Service Tool for Enterprises

VMware used the first day of Microsoft Ignite to announce a new tool for companies that want to get a clearer view of the compatibility of their PC assets for Windows 10 migrations.

Called SysTrack Desktop Assessment, the tool provides detailed metrics and data in on-demand reports that can be shared inside and outside of the organization, enabling the ability to determine how much or how little of the organization is ready for Windows 10.

The service requires customer registration to create a personal dashboard and then the installation and execution of an agent service.  This agent retrieves the information from the installed PCs and uploads the information to the VMware SysTrack cloud where reports can be generated and viewed.

The service is made available through a partnership with Lakeside Software.
