Update Rolling Out Today Requires Office Uninstall for Windows 10

Rather than pull an update that will not install correctly on versions of Windows 10 with Office installed, Microsoft will roll it out anyway and instead communicate a workaround.

The update, an Office rollup, will deliver with today's Patch Tuesday updates. Once the KB-number has been assigned, I'll update this post.

Per a Twitter post by Gabe Aul, Windows Insider chief, for those with Office installed on Windows 10 Technical Preview, you'll want to uninstall Office, install the hotfix, and then reinstall Office. This is the only way to ensure the update installs correctly.

UPDATE: Per a follow-up post by Gabe later in the day, users should try to install the KB3022827 update first to see if it might actually work without needing to perform the Office uninstall workaround. Gabe stated, "It will work for many, no harm if not." Which, I guess, is a way of saying that Microsoft doesn't really know why it works sometimes and why it doesn't. But, hey, it's December and this is beta software.
