Yesterday I gave you a quick look at two videos I created using the new Story Remix functionality that is part of the Microsoft Photos app in Windows 10 Redstone 3 Build 16193 that is currently being tested by Windows Insiders.
This version of Story Remix is integrated into the Photos app itself and while we do not know if it will eventually get its own separate app or continue to be part of Photos, we can go ahead and start tinkering with the limited features that have been made public at this point.
By the way, it seems only some Windows Insiders have received Photos update that enables Story Remix. While I recommend checking for updates or waiting for the functionality to be available on your device, here is a quick way to visually tell whether you have it available.
First, as you open the Photos app you can see a difference very quickly:
Photos App with Story Remix Features Enabled
Photos App without Story Remix Features Enabled
You can also compare the Settings>About pages for the apps build numbers and you will find they match except for one small detail:
As you can see the app which has the Story Remix features enabled has the extra text of Build 2017 as part of the build number.
Microsoft has stated they are working to get Story Remix to all Windows Insiders but in the interim join me for a quick intro to the app in this walk-through video:
