After wowing everyone in the morning hardware briefing, Microsoft transformed the same venue into a Microsoft Fan attraction with food, drink, music, gadgets and activities to thank their loyal fans. Many received their invitation to the four hour event because they were Windows Insiders.
I had the opportunity to check out the event and meet up with several folks from Microsoft and the enthusiast community. The energy level was high and there were opportunities to put hands on the new hardware Microsoft had announced to the world.
Quite a few lucky attendees also had the opportunity to try out HoloLens and play Project X-ray - the mixed reality game that was demoed earlier in the day.
I am not sure you could have wiped the looks off their face when they walked out of that demo!
Several Microsoft executives were in attendance including Satya Nadella, Yusuf Mehdi and Panos Panay.
I had the chance to talk briefly with Panos and I complimented him on the mornings announcements and talked about the passion which he exudes as he discusses the hardware the company has built.
His first reply to me was to acknowledge his team and that it is their accomplishment not his. Being humble and passionate is a delicate balance and he nails it.
