Windows 10 is a very customizable operating system which allows users a lot of flexibility when it comes to how they choose to use their system.
We are also seeing this trend continue in the current Windows Insider builds as new customizations are being added such as the ability to now have the same image on your Lock Screen and Sig-in Screen.
I am also finding that Notifications and the Action Center, where they are stored for you to catch up on in case you missed them when they first popped up, have become much more reliable and a feature of many apps as they support more Push Notifications.
However, if you to ever head into the Settings > System > Notifications & actions options page you would be hard pressed to find an option to control just how long those initial pop up notifications are shown on screen. You can control everything else about Notifications in that spot but not the amount of time they stay on screen.
In order to do set that option for your Notifications you have to head into the Settings > Ease of Access > Other options settings page.
Yes, it is under Ease of Access, and it actually makes a lot of sense considering it is related to easily accessing those Notifications before they disappear off the screen.
If you click on the drop down menu you will see options that allow you to show Notifications on screen for 5, 7, 15 or 30 seconds or if you want there are also options for 1 or 5 minutes.
Once you have picked your new default length of time for those Notifications you can close the Settings app and continue with your work.
