Disabling the Installation of Consumer Apps on Windows 10 Business Computers

As Windows 10 begins to see deeper business use many IT Pros are tasked with making Windows 10 thoroughly business-ready. Part of that means eliminating the consumer-type applications that can come preinstalled through an upgrade.

Fortunately, Microsoft provides a couple ways to ensure that things like Twitter and Candy Crush don’t get installed automatically.

Group Policy

Group Policy Path: Computer / Admin Templates / Windows Components / Cloud Content / Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences

Windows Registry

Registry Path: HKEY_Local_Machine \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CloudContent \ DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures = 1
