Q: What Citrix policies can improve poor VoIP audio in XenDesktop?

A: XenDesktop can send and receive audio content in a lossy format by using UDP Real-time Transport. This configuration can improve audio quality for VoIP applications when that quality is unacceptable at the medium audio quality setting. To get this configuration, you enable the Citrix XenDesktop user policy setting Audio over UDP Real-time Transport. Enabling this policy reconfigures audio network traffic to occur over two consecutive UDP network ports within the range of 16500 through 16509. You can configure other ports to be used by enabling and configuring the XenDesktop machine policy titled Audio UDP Port Range.
