Q. Can I move a virtual machine (VM) from an Intel box to an AMD box, and vice-versa?

A. You can't move a VM between different CPUs using online migration technologies like Quick Migration and Live Migration. However, if you shut down the VM and start it on a new host with a different processor, there isn't a problem. There are no Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) problems related to different processors.
