Max VM Memory on Hyper-V

Q: How can I check the maximum amount of memory my virtual machine can use from within the Hyper-V virtual machine?

A: Dynamic memory allows you to configure a virtual machine with a start, minimum, and maximum value. You can add and remove memory from the virtual machine based on the amount of memory actually required by the processes running on the operating system. To view the maximum amount of memory that you can assign to a virtual machine, open Task Manager on the virtual machine, select the Performance tab, and select Memory. As you can see in the following figure, the maximum possible memory is displayed, along with the current high watermark value (i.e., the most memory the virtual machine has ever been assigned but not necessarily the amount currently assigned—in this case 2.5GB).
